My room for this Kips Bay Show house had exquisite wood paneling providing an excellent opportunity to create a man's study / media room. The concept was a stylish masculine retreat. My design for a media cabinet to house the electronics and media storage was silkscreened with pearlized lettering from pages of news periodicals from all over the world. A large antique bi-plane hangs over the desk skirting a huge image of the wings of a 747 extended for landing. My custom designed cork covered console on a bronze frame structure was a big hit, receiving several orders. The majestic Japanese screen adds a golden glow above my arc sofa while Hunt Slonem's homage to Parrots centers the fireplace. I named my design for a small side table of multi-colored geometric elements for Chiku because it was colorful, with a tropical flair. We are introducing an entire collection based on the design concept in April in our Boteroworlddot.com Showroom.
