"Kips Bay Showcase"
The orange moiré wall upholstery made for a warm and festive atmosphere in this dining room. The color gave you an appetite and was inspired by the orange lobster in the Picasso painting "Kabul and the Lobster" 1964 that I used. Kabul was Picasso’s dog. The Rufino Tamayo "EI Borrachito Alegre" which means drunken man sat opposite. Nothing like good art and an elegant setting to keep guests at table for hours of leisurely conversation if you banish the Blackberry and the I-Phone. I was fortunate to be able to use two major works of art for this showcase, something almost impossible today with the cost of insurance. One of my clients purchased the Picasso from the showcase.
